Kimberley Cranbrook Food Network
Strengthening local food systems through collaboration, connection, and community action.
The Kimberley Cranbrook Food Network (KCFN) is a regional collaboration of local organizations, non-profits, programs, and individuals working together to strengthen food security across Kimberley, Cranbrook, ʔaq̓am, and surrounding communities.
Established in 2021 through the United Way BC Regional Community Food Hub initiative, the Network connects partners working on food access, food growing, food recovery, education, and community well-being. By sharing information, coordinating efforts, and building relationships grounded in care and collaboration, KCFN helps strengthen a more resilient and community-driven local food system.

As part of the Kimberley Cranbrook Food Network’s always evolving work, Live for Local is the umbrella that brings many of our community-facing food initiatives together throughout the year.
While KCFN focuses on building connections and coordinating efforts behind the scenes, Live for Local is one of the ways that our collaborations shows up publicly — through seasonal events, workshops, gatherings, and hands-on opportunities to learn, grow, and share.

From seed libraries and Seedy Saturdays, to Farmer’s Forums, 'Plant a Row, Share a Row', film screenings, garden tours, community food celebrations, and so much more, Live for Local helps connect neighbours with local growers, volunteers with organizations, community groups with community, and local curiosity with local action.
At its heart, Live for Local is about strengthening our regional food system by inviting more people to participate in all of the many ways there are to get involved locally where we live — whether that means planting a garden, attending an event, sharing extra produce, or simply learning more about the role local food plays in our communities.

Alongside our events and initiatives, the Kimberley Cranbrook Food Network is working to create a shared home for practical, locally relevant food resources.
Whether you’re looking for support, curious about what’s happening near you, or hoping to get more involved, we’re building this website as a place to help you find your way into the local food conversation.
Explore our Food Asset Map to see what food programs and supports exist across the region. Visit our Blog to read stories and updates from across the Network. Follow KCFN on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date on what we’re working on and collaborating on — and use or follow the #kimcrangrowtogether hashtag to see how neighbours are growing, sharing, and strengthening local food in our communities. We’ll continue adding new stories and resources here on the website as our work evolves so we hope to see and hear from you again and again!
Because a strong food system is built not just on programs and events, but on people staying connected.
