About the event

Interested in saving your own seeds and growing plants that are well-suited to our local environment?

Join Mary Cosman — who brings a wealth of seed saving knowledge from previously running the Our Cold Climate Seed Library in Fernie — along with the Cranbrook Public Produce Garden for a hands-on Seed Saving Workshop at the Cranbrook Public Library.

This session will cover the basics of seed saving, including how to plan your garden with seed saving in mind, how to avoid or encourage cross-pollination, how to select the best seeds for planting, and a few foundational botany concepts to support your growing.

Whether you’re new to gardening or looking to deepen your knowledge, this is a great opportunity to build skills that support local growing and seed sharing.
